This Tinned Oxygen Free Copper speaker wire provides superior resistance to noise compared to conventional speaker wire. The wire actually will repel noise due to its twisted construction. Each conductor is composed of 462 strands of the finest copper for superb audio accuracy and flexibility.
Karma SS Speaker Wire is made from tinned oxygen free copper. The tin contributes to a better sound quality by minimizing the skin-effect (lowering the current jumps between the wire surfaces) and prevents cable degradation from oxidation. These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
American Wire Gauge
Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier’s life.
True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products
Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
Speaker Wire is often written as 10-2 or 10/2. This means 10 gauge x 2 conductor, both positive and negative signal are carried within one cable and are each 10 gauge.
Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). Most speaker wire ranges from 10 to 16 gauge. 18 to 22 gauge is often much too thin for most Home Theater applications.

Tinned Copper – What the Pros Recommend
When bare copper is exposed to oxygen, it oxidizes over time (turns brown/green).
These contaminants are damaging to the cable’s ability to conduct electricity.
Tin provides a protective barrier from oxygen to the bare copper underneath.
By adding a thin layer of tin to each strand, the cable is no longer able to oxidize.
Tin does not react with oxygen and therefore the cable will never change color or have any change in its ability to conduct electricity

Q:
Can this cable be used in wall?
A:
In wall cable requires a UL listing and be CL2 or CL3 rated by UL to be up to code. The main difference is that CL2 and CL3 rated cables have a double jacket to prevent damaged to the cable while pulled through walls and studs. The Karma Kable is not rated for in wall use, however it can be used in drop ceilings. If CL2 or CL3 rated wire is needed, see our KL3 series.
Q:
Which side is Positive and which is Negative
A:
Choosing polarity for the installation is up to the installer. The only requirement is that the same color code must be followed throughout the installation to avoid your speakers from being out of phase. It does not matter which conductor is used for either polarity, just as long as the same conductor is used throughout the installation to maintain correct polarity.
Q:
How do I strip this speaker wire?
A:
To terminate the Karma Kable, a sharp razor or utility knife should be used to pierce through the outer jacket. Start 2-4” from the desired end and work parallel with the cable to the end. Cutting only ½ through the top jacket of the cable, once you have split the outer jacket you can peel and strip the inner conductors like standard wire. .
